Babywearing Educators New Zealand (BWENZ) is the professional association in New Zealand for
Babywearing Consultants*, working in NZ, Australia or the Pacific Islands.
* Also may be called Sling Consultants, Carrying Consultants, Sling and Carrier Consultants
BWENZ was founded by its members in 2016 in order to:
1. Provide a collective for the development, discussion and promotion of the practice of babywearing education;
2. Promote understanding of safe and comfortable practice, techniques and theory of babywearing to wider audiences within New Zealand; and
3. Represent the national community of babywearing educators on a collective basis.
The Association also recognises as members (a) trained Peer Educators / Supporters who most-often have voluntary roles, and (b) related professions providing babywearing information after approved training to the equivalent of peer supporter.
